Diwali is a festival of lights and is one of the most important (and largest) religious celebrations in the Hindu, Sikh, and Jain calendars.  Diwali welcomes the New Year, symbolizing and celebrating good over evil, light over darkness, and knowledge over ignorance.  For the Indian population, it’s an equally important regional and cultural festivity as it is religious.  Full of hope for new beginnings, Diwali is a time to embrace change and positivity.  Without question, Diwali is the most celebrated festival in India.  Diwali illuminates our houses, hearts and preaches the message of friendship and togetherness.  Light is the depiction of hope, success, knowledge and fortune and Diwali reinforces our faith in these virtues of life.

Here at Kingdom, “Your Diwali Experience Starts Here” and we take that responsibility seriously.  This year, Diwali will be on Monday October 24th and it’s usually a 5 day celebration with the main day of Diwali being on the third day.  If you follow the Hindu calendar, Diwali will fall on the 15th day of the month Kartika (between mid-October and mid-November).  In fact, in ancient India, this day was celebrated as the harvest festival.  Knowing the body of work that is put into a lighting season, celebrating the “harvest festival” with our Diwali friends could not be more fitting.
